About Supported Living

London & Quadrant Supported Living (L&Q SL) is a social business providing:

• support, under contract to administering Authorities
• agency partnerships to deliver homes with support
• housing management in L&Q SL owned homes
• new and improved homes for support service users

In short, L&Q SL provides "quality homes and support for people who need help towards independent living".

L&QSL is part of London & Quadrant Housing Trust. It is a brand and a business unit, set up late 2002 in response to the challenge of Supporting People. L&Q SL is led by L&Q Group Director, Paul Kingsley.

L&Q SL runs as a ringfenced not for-for-profit business within L&Q and does not have independent legal status. Its staff are employees of the L&Q Group and its committee, chaired by Board member Peter Robinson, directs the business of L&QSL with authority delegated from the L&Q Governing Board.

L&Q SL 'pays its way' financially, as L&Q does not expect to subsidise L&Q SL's service users from the rents of general needs tenants. All surpluses are used to cover risk, and enable growth and stock improvement.

L&Q SL helps L&Q 'create places where people want to live'. The L&Q SL mission, 'to provide quality homes and support for people who need help towards independent living', sits clearly within the corporate mission.
