L&Q’s Graduate Development Programme was “highly commended” at this year’s prestigious National Training Awards.
Judges described the programme – which has delivered a talent pool of 21 graduates since its launch in 2004 – as “an example of highly effective training with great potential”.
It is a two-year programme designed to foster personal and professional development in the graduates by giving them the opportunity to spend time in four different work placements. This gives them a taste of how L&Q works on a day to day basis, as well as giving them a broader understanding of housing issues.
They are mentored throughout the programme and offered additional training and development opportunities.
They are also helped with relevant professional qualifications and many have gone on to have extremely successful careers with L&Q.
Recruitment is currently underway for our fifth graduate intake in early 2008.
The awards were held at the Banqueting House, Whitehall, and Barrie Smith, L&Q’s Head of Learning and Development, collected a trophy from Fame Academy star David Grant.
