Helping people access financial services

CHANGE is a community finance company which was launched in January 2003. Its aim is to help social housing residents get access to helpful financial services. If you don’t already have a bank account there are many good reasons to start one now, especially if you receive benefits or a pension. If you need help setting up a bank account, want debt advice or need to set up direct payments for your benefits or state pension, CHANGE can help.

CHANGE is a partnership of London based Housing Associations helping residents get better access to financial services and support. We have specially trained staff to help you make the right decision about an account. Your revenue officer should also be able to refer you to a CHANGE member of staff.

From April 2006 there will be new CHANGE services, which include offering affordable loans to help reduce the need to use expensive forms of credit. This will initially be tested in a few London boroughs, and if it is successful the service will be made available to more people.
