1. Make sure you have the full address and telephone number of the place where the interview is to be held.
2. Make sure you are clear about the route you are going to take. Have bus numbers, train times and so on worked out in advance. Think about an alternative route in case of emergencies.
3. Dress appropriately. Remember, first impressions count!
4. Check your outfit the night before for stains, loose buttons and other things which will cause embarrassment at your interview.
5. Find out as much about the company as you can. Why not see if they have a website. This will give you more of an idea of why you want to work for the company when you are asked the inevitable question - why?
6. During your interview, smile, be positive, and make lots of eye contact with the interviewer.
7. If you don't understand a question, it is better to ask the interviewer to repeat it than to make something up.
8. Before you go in, think of some questions that you can ask the interviewer at the end of the interview. This helps to show that you are interested in the job.
9. Find out when you will hear if you have been successful.
Remember, you may not be successful at every interview - if you're not, don't be too dishearted - look at it as practice for the next one!
