Thanks for looking after us

For Jean Maclennan helping her neighbours is second nature, but her kind deeds didn’t go unnoticed by Stella Webb.
L&Q resident Stella, who lives in Upper Norwood, South West London, nominated Jean for a Good Neighbour award to thank her for 20 years of caring and friendship.

She said: “I would describe her as a caring caretaker – not only to me, but all of us in the house, always taking the trouble to see that everything is all right with the upkeep of the communal areas and checking on us if someone is unwell.
“She also takes in parcels, lets in builders and feeds cats for absent owners.
“Her latest project was making sure the house had outside security lights for all our safety.”

She added: “There is a unique atmosphere of one big happy family that has been created in our house due to Jean’s caring nature and willingness to help or just listen throughout our years together, which I would like to thank her for.”
