Skills, training and employment

We want to help residents to develop skills, take up vocational training and enter employment. We see this as vital to our investment in local neighbourhoods and communities. By generating opportunities for local people to improve their livelihoods we can help create genuinely thriving and sustainable communities with a mix of incomes and housing tenures which can give residents more choices in life.

We work with local councils and experienced agencies who are supporting unemployed people. We also work with skills and training providers and with other housing associations through the G15 Employment and Training group. We engage with employers to develop local and regional initiatives which meet residents’ needs. This includes our development and maintenance partners to ensure that training and employment opportunities are created for local people when we build, regenerate and maintain homes.
