A joint initiative between London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) and Metropolitan Housing Trust (MHT), the Reaching Out project, took a prestigious Housing Corporation Gold Award during 2007.
The project based in Edmonton, north London was aimed at increasing service use and community participation among the Kurdish/Turkish community. The independent Kurdish and Turkish Residents Association (KATRE), which now works across the London Boroughs of Enfield and Haringey, has grown from this scheme, which won the award for “addressing the needs of diverse communities and harder to reach people and groups”.
