L&Q has long supported the development of Information and Communication Technology for residents. Some examples are the Lewington Community Centre in Lewisham which includes a Cybercentre, and the Beaumont Cybercentre in Waltham Forest.
These centres are for local people to use to develop their skills. They offer a wide range of opportunities for those who want to know more about technology. People can learn how to surf the internet, how to use various computer programmes, or get to grips with more advanced things, like understanding how a whole computer is put together. Most courses are free and many lead to accredited qualifications.
We have also installed dedicated computers in our sheltered housing schemes so older residents can learn more about local services, develop hobbies and keep in touch with friends and family.
