Adding Value To Your Property
How best to add value to a property is generally something most people only think about when they’re looking to sell, but with so many additional properties coming on to the rental market due to the financial crisis, many landlords are looking for that something special to attract those all important long-term lets.
With many young families being forced to rent longer or to even return to renting following a failed mortgage, the amount of properties needed that are suitable for young children is on the rise. Making your property child-friendly doesn’t need to be an expensive process, as all a good family property essentially needs is a couple of soft areas and an easy way of restricting access to the places that aren’t. This means carpeting the lounge and hall, or if you’re on a budget put down some heavy rugs, and install child gates on the kitchen door, so that anyone working in there can keep the door open without having to worry about curious infant intruders. Finally, ensuring the garden is neat and tidy is a must, with as much grass as possible and low maintenance shrubbery.
If you do have some cash to invest then you could always look in to adding a conservatory to the property. Conservatories are probably more welcome in the UK than anywhere else in the world, as most of the sunnier months are ruined by intermittent showers, and it is an easy way of expanding the square footage of the property.
