Finally, ensuring the garden is neat and tidy is a must, with as much grass as possible and low maintenance shrubbery.

If you do have some cash to invest then you could always look in to adding a conservatory to the property. Conservatories are probably more welcome in the UK than anywhere else in the world, as most of the sunnier months are ruined by intermittent showers, and it is an easy way of expanding the square footage of the property.
